We're Going to Disney World

In honor of our first family trip to Disney World I made I altered these t-shirts for my kiddos.  Super easy hour long project converting plain t-shirts to Mickey shirts using the reverse applique technique.  The kiddos had just found out about our trip  when this picture is taken hence the goofy poses and excitedness in their faces.

Creative Christmas 2009

Three little owls sitting in a tree.  I generally make the kiddos Christmas Eve pj's but this year I wanted to make jammies to give to them on Christmas when we unveiled our big family gift.  The kids really look forward to their mama made Christmas Eve gifts so I decided to improvise this year and make them ornaments instead.  I adore owls and this combined with my oldest being Harry Potter crazed gave me the idea to make the kiddos owl ornaments.  I searched for patterns on-line and found this cute tutorial ln Juicy Bits Blog:  http://juicy-bits.typepad.com/juicy_bits/2009/12/131-give-a-hoot-for-the-holidays.html

This was such a fun and easy project.  Each owl took less than an hour to make and are adored by myself and my kiddos.   They are hand stitched except for the blind hem stitch representing the feathers on the belly.  THey are made of wool felt.
